POLYMNIA FUTURA

Polymnia Futura evokes the connection between Polignano’s ancient name and its vision for the future. The project interprets Polignano’s genius loci – from its ancient karst formations to its calcarenite stone, from its relationship with the sea to its agricultural heritage – as a set of resources to be harnessed in the creation of a resilient and inclusive city.

URBAN DUNES

Urban Dunes proposes an urban oasis to mitigate the heat island effect in Abu Dhabi’s extreme climate. The project integrates vernacular strategies (vaults, mashrabiyya, water basins) and passive/low-tech systems, validated through UTCI and CFD analysis. The roof is a stereotomic vault made of 3D-printed sandstone (binder jetting) using local sand.

3D PRINTED MOSQUE

3D Printed Mosque is a project for a new mosque in Kuwait that combines additive manufacturing with traditional construction methods. The architectural language reworks the forms and elements of Islamic architecture – vaults, mashrabiyya and domes – through a continuous and organic geometry, reinterpreting them in a contemporary style whilst maintaining a recognisable link to the cultural and religious context.

AETHERIUS

Aetherius is a configurable modular pavilion, characterised by fluid, organic geometries that create a direct dialogue between structure and nature. Produced using extrusion 3D printing, it employs a mortar containing marble dust and aggregates recovered from waste from the stone industry. Large zenithal openings and the integration of vegetation define a luminous public space, in which material, light and the additive process contribute to the architectural quality.

THE CIRCLE PENTHOUSE

A project for a London penthouse featuring bespoke, high-end furnishings and exquisite details. The project was developed in close collaboration with a property developer specialising in residential solutions built using cutting-edge construction technologies and a plug-and-play approach.

FLUX VAULT

Flux Vault is an experimental stone pavilion that explores the relationship between structural form, parametric design and contemporary construction techniques. The pavilion’s geometry is generated from surfaces composed exclusively of catenary curves, where the form derives directly from the structural behaviour. The construction system is based on voussoirs assembled into large pre-fabricated elements, allowing for rapid assembly (and dismantling) without the use of traditional formwork.

A flagship store concept that translates a fashion brand's identity into an industrial, cyberpunk-style space, designed as both a retail outlet and a meeting place to be photographed and shared.

A masterplan that brings together a fragmented area of Vantaa into a bioclimatic neighbourhood, where historical heritage, nature and the community are once again woven into the same vision.

ROGOREDO CO-HOUSING

A regeneration project for brownfield sites in the Rogoredo district (Milan), designed as a new neighbourhood characterised by social and functional mixité. The development strategy organises green spaces, boulevards and a square, with proximity services on the ground floor and a focus on the pedestrian and cycling network; vehicular mobility is directed to the periphery to reduce daily car use.

NEW ROOTS

New Roots reinterprets elements of local architecture through compact, articulated volumes, screening surfaces and the integration of water and greenery as climate-control features. A ‘lama’ runs lengthways through the design, promoting cross ventilation and evaporative cooling. The fragmentation of the volumes and the use of customised screens contribute to solar control and heat dissipation, creating an adaptive and flexible architectural system.

VILLA IN CAROVIGNO

A single-storey villa that reinterprets the Mediterranean typology of the podium-style building, situated on an existing terrace that has been suitably extended and bordered by drystone walls restored using traditional techniques. The villa’s set-back position on the plot minimises its impact on the landscape and preserves the existing mature olive trees. The white volume, the movable timber shading devices and the drainage-friendly outdoor areas define a carefully calibrated intervention that respects the context.

KURIKKA-TALO

Design for the new Kurikka Town Hall, conceived as an open and permeable civic building, integrated into the existing urban fabric. The triangular form with rounded corners defines a compact layout that organises offices and public services around a large central covered space, naturally lit and designed to serve as the building’s social heart.

WELLNESS CLUB

The Wellness Club project combines digital design and parametric control to create a space dedicated to well-being, where space, light and materials are coordinated as part of a single system. Continuous geometries and bespoke surfaces organise pathways and functions, creating an immersive experience that brings together architectural scale, comfort and perceptual quality. The design process utilises computational tools to control form and detail.

FIRST STONE

First Stone is a 3D-printed residential neighbourhood project in the New Orleans area (Louisiana), designed to provide access to first homes in an environment prone to extreme weather events. The clustered layout and aerodynamic form, validated through wind pressure simulations, support a hurricane-proof strategy. Compact modules, bioclimatic design and an energy community (shared PV and batteries) complete the system.

ADDITIVE STEREOTOMY

Additive Stereotomy is a proposal for a vaulted system comprising a succession of arches, created using voussoirs 3D-printed with binder jetting technology. The arches, which are structurally independent, are arranged to form a ‘false vault’ that is free in form and not constrained by the structural behaviour of traditional vaults. The division into blocks allows for the integration of geometric variations and openings for natural lighting.

FLOWIN' FOOTBRIDGE

Flowin’ is a pre-assembled pedestrian bridge for the city of Moganshan (China), designed as a lightweight and easily assembled structure. The structure consists of prefabricated macro-elements made of low-carbon concrete, produced using 3D-printed thermoplastic formwork and subsequently post-tensioned. The project explores a reversible construction model, designed to reduce assembly times, waste and on-site impact.

BINBAZ TOWERS – INTERIORS

The interior design adopts a contemporary aesthetic based on a balance of materials, the control of light and spatial continuity. Stone surfaces, wooden panelling and integrated lighting systems define understated, measured spaces, in which bespoke furnishings and architectural details contribute to the overall quality of the space.

EY BARI

The project involves the extension and renovation of EY's Bari office across three levels, including the ground-floor entrance. The intervention was conceived as a unified, flexible system of spaces for work, training and interaction, able to integrate new functions while maintaining continuity with the company's identity.

BINBAZ TOWERS

Binbaz Towers is a proposal for a mixed-use complex in Riyadh that reinterprets forms of Arab architecture in a contemporary style, featuring curved geometries optimised for the local climate and prevailing winds. The project incorporates bioclimatic strategies and facade solutions to reduce solar gain and overheating, prioritising natural ventilation and indoor comfort. The scheme combines hospitality, residential and healthcare functions, with public spaces and green spaces serving as key urban elements.

INFINITE TABLE

Infinite Table is a sculptural table crafted from Nero Marquina marble, designed as the centrepiece of a prestigious space. The continuous, tapered form of the tabletop, supported by monolithic legs, is defined through a process of digital modelling that harmonises structural balance with the material’s visual qualities.

BAMBOO OFFICE

Bamboo Office is a proposal for an office building in Changzhou (China), selected as the winning entry in an international competition organised by the Chinese Sustainable Design Centre and the China New Building Materials Design & Research Institute. The project integrates architecture, bioclimatic strategies and environmental analysis to establish a direct connection between workspaces and nature, making the cycles of light, time and the seasons tangible.

AOSTA SCHOOL OF ART & MUSIC

A project for the demolition and reconstruction of an existing school building in Aosta, designed as a civic facility open to the local community. The scheme incorporates a bioclimatic sunspace as a social space and environmental filter, organising educational and public functions according to criteria of flexibility, comfort and reduced energy consumption through passive strategies.

PRIMARY SCHOOL IN TRANI

A project for the demolition and reconstruction of a school complex designed as a Nearly Zero-Energy Building (NZEB) and a resilient educational facility. The project incorporates passive bioclimatic strategies, high-efficiency building services systems, and central communal spaces designed to serve as environmental and social hubs. The school is conceived as a flexible environment, capable of ensuring comfort and a high-quality learning experience.

BRACCIALINI HQ

The retrofit project for the Braccialini headquarters in Scandicci reinterprets the building through a new high-performance facade, designed to improve indoor comfort and perceived quality. The building envelope is clad in a micro-perforated aluminium skin, composed of digitally generated and controlled folded metal strips, which filter solar radiation, promote natural ventilation and daylighting, and introduce a fluid, aerodynamic form that integrates with the existing structure.

STONE POLYSPHERE

Stone PolySphere is an experimental installation that explores the potential of parametric design and digital fabrication as applied to stone architecture. The project takes the form of a stone sphere comprising a solid lower hemisphere and a stereotomic upper hemisphere, created using a system of CNC-machined perforated voussoirs.

CORAL TABLE

Coral Table is a large rosewood table characterised by a branching, non-repetitive geometry generated through a parametric design process. Its form draws inspiration from natural phenomena of growth and erosion, particularly the structures of coral reefs and minimal surfaces.

ROSMELY STEAK ROOM

The small interior room of a steakhouse in Bari has been transformed into an elegant and cosy space, where built-in furniture and bespoke panelling have given the venue a new look without making any significant alterations to the walls.

UNIT 27

Unit 27 is a 27-square-metre modular housing system, designed to restore outdoor space and a connection with the landscape in the dense cities of the future. Each prefabricated unit is assembled within a steel frame structure, creating spacious balconies, terraces and shared neighbourhood spaces. The open-plan layout and large windows expand the perception of interior spaces, whilst bespoke furnishings integrate the kitchen, living area, sleeping area and bathroom into a compact building envelope. A design gamble on the idea that living in fewer square metres can mean living better.

LANTERNS SEA VILLAGE

Lanterns Sea Village is a temporary settlement for surfers in Tarifa, Andalusia, suspended over the sea. One hundred tetrahedral bamboo modules (grouped in threes for mutual static balance) rest on poles driven deep into the sand, avoiding the need for concrete foundations or castings. The floors made of recycled timber and the sunshades crafted from old surfboards form an entirely reversible structure, capable of being dismantled without leaving a trace. Published on ArchDaily in 2015.

JUST A MINUTE

Just a Minute is a deployable emergency shelter, designed in response to the 2015 Nepal earthquake. The module expands from 2.5×4 m to 4×7.11 m thanks to a frame made of bamboo poles braced with cross-braces, secured with wing nuts. The layered building envelope of jute, recycled wool and a waterproof membrane ensures thermal comfort in different climates; a permanent core of OSB panels houses essential services. The project can be clustered in small villages and is energy self-sufficient thanks to the rooftop photovoltaic panels.

UNBOXED

Unboxed is a prefabricated timber building made of X-Lam timber, conceived as a wooden interpretation of the contemporary Mediterranean home. The modular system offers four size options and an innovative steel foundation that eliminates the need for excavation and makes the building fully demountable and recyclable. The gently sloping roof is fitted with Tegosolar solar tiles; CNC-cut shading panels block out the summer radiation. The white volume, its relationship with light and its dialogue with the landscape reinterpret the Mediterranean identity using industrialised methods.
